MT-R applications in Germany: CV and interview in German

2 min read · KlinikDeutsch ·

An MT-R discusses his application with a hiring manager

Your MT-R application becomes easier to assess when you describe what you actually do at work. Connect your radiography experience with concrete examples in German: patient preparation, the procedures you have worked with and coordination within the team.

Describe experience that matches the vacancy

Read the vacancy and identify duties for which you have genuine experience. Organise your CV around workplaces, dates, procedure areas and specific tasks. Explain which procedures you know and how you have supported patients.

One wording to adapt is „Patientenvorbereitung und Begleitung bei CT-Untersuchungen nach den Vorgaben der Abteilung“: preparing and supporting patients during CT examinations according to departmental instructions. Match every statement to your actual duties and qualifications.

Organise documents and your recognition status

The Federal Employment Agency lists a cover letter, CV and certificates among usual application documents. Follow the vacancy instructions. Add language evidence and documents about your recognition process when they are requested. Bundesagentur für Arbeit.

Your cover letter connects one requirement with a relevant example. Your CV makes dates and responsibilities clear. In the interview, you can then explain the same professional background that the team has read in your documents.

Prepare a specific situation for the conversation

Choose one workplace situation and explain it in three steps: your task, your actions and your teamwork. Then practise the follow-up questions that your example may prompt.

„Ich habe in einer radiologischen Abteilung gearbeitet.“
„Zu meinen Aufgaben gehörte die Vorbereitung der Patientinnen und Patienten.“
„Bei Rückfragen habe ich mich mit dem zuständigen Team abgestimmt.“
„Wie ist die Einarbeitung in Ihrer Abteilung organisiert?“

These phrases help you describe your experience and ask about induction. Personalise them with your own procedure areas. Speaking them aloud prepares you for the conversation as well as the written application.
