Conduct the initial interview
The virtual patient answers with a voice. You speak into the microphone or type, and the clock shows your 20 minutes. The feedback shows you exploration, suicide screening and empathy, register and accuracy.
Write the case documentation
In the writing simulator you document every case in technical language. You also practise the crisis documentation, the letter to the GP and the referral report.
Present the case in the professional discussion
You present the case to Dr Lindner and answer his follow-up questions. In every lesson, Dr Vogel asks you the examiner's technical questions.
Train for the whole exam

How to plan your learning
14 lessons (orientation, 12 clinical pictures and the exam simulation) and a core module on terminology
A possible learning rhythm
First you listen to a conversation and collect useful phrases. Then you practise yourself in the simulator. In your next study session you write a text and use the feedback. Finally you go through the case again as an exam situation.
You learn in separate units: for example a conversation, a writing task or a review. You spread a complete case over several study sessions. Your prior knowledge and your reviews set your pace.
Your monthly price
€49 a month for the digital specialist language course. You decide how long your subscription runs. The exam body charges its exam fee separately.
Your FSP preparation
In North Rhine-Westphalia, the patient conversation is set at C2, and the case documentation and professional discussion at C1. In Bavaria, all three parts are set at C2. The authority handling your Approbation will tell you which body is responsible. Official exam information.

How does the Fachsprachenprüfung work?
The exam lasts 60 minutes and revolves around a single case: first the patient, then the documentation, then the professional discussion. Three parts of 20 minutes each, as described in the information sheets of the Psychotherapeutenkammern of North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria:
Part 1 · Patient conversation · 20 minutes
You conduct a therapeutic initial interview: presenting concern, symptoms, history and life situation, in everyday patient language, with empathy and structure.
Part 2 · Case documentation · 20 minutes
You write up that conversation on the computer: presenting concern, history, mental state examination, provisional diagnosis and next steps.
Part 3 · Professional discussion · 20 minutes
You present the case to a psychotherapist and answer their follow-up questions: findings, diagnosis and treatment plan, in technical language.
You train exactly these three parts in every lesson from lesson 2 onwards, in the exam run-through: against the clock, with a four-level rating grid and a model answer. Lesson 14 adds two new cases.
